What I know is that the class president of '85 was informed that nobody solicited for ads this coming Alumni Homecoming so he scrambled to solicit in the the name of his class for ads. Then he found out that those he had contacted were also contacted and solicited for class '60 the class supposed to be honoring by class '85. yes they can always solicit for their class the proceeds it's only they can tell. Suddenly, somebody said she is soliciting in the name of DMNHS for ads,the proceeds whatever is left after all the expenses will be deposited for Alumni Funds. Class '85 members don't want the idea because they want something tangible after the celebration,their intended project is to build an improved kind of comfort rooms, the projected cost has been estimated.But they don't like that idea of class'85 because they want it for Alumni Funds. What I know is that the class president of 85 was informed that there was not made solicitations in the Phil.,so as pres. he is scrambling to solicit whatever he can solicit here in the U.S. So he made contacts and have been made some commitments until he found out thaat some he had been soliciting said that somebody have solicited from them and learned that they belong to class '60, the class class '85 is supposed to be honoring this Nov. Well, class '60 can solicit too but maybe for their class the purpose of which I don't know. The purpose of the class president's solicitations is for the ads as he was informed that there was no solicitations for ads was made, the proceeds of which is the building of a more sanitary comfort rooms at the DMNHS premises. Suddenly somebody said she is soliciting in the name of Alumni Association , the proceeds she said will be deposited for Alumni funds which class '85 won't agree to because they want something tangible for their class solicitations proceeds!!Something that can be done immediately after the celebrations. So that is the whole story,seems like 3 entities soliciting for the coming event. Without the money coming from Countrywide Development Funds (Pork Barrel), it would have been impossible to where DMNHS, is now. Remember, DMNHS, is a national high school financed by the Dept. of Education. If so, this idea to exclude such representaion is not only germane, but full of ... arrogance. Invited guess made too long speeches, useless speeches that no one cares what they say about anything. 2. The occupy the dais in the poduim as if they are the celebrants and given more recognition, beribboned, and mostly are from nowhere not a DMNHS grad. 3. Entertained with sumptous meals and ahead of the line proviledges. Whatever leftovers the celebrants are given next in line. 4. Their congratulatory messages are placed in the first few pages of the souvenir program FREE of charge while I pay 3000 pesos myself as all others with full page subscription. 5. Dep Ed people no matter what they are, they did not help in the succeesses or failures of DMNHS grads. With all these observations I put my name and like to be challenged or rebut by anyone. Lets forget our ideas and beliefs that if we invite somebody from any high govermental functionary they will help uplift our educational standards or esteem. Its totally wrong. I rather give credit or recognition to whoever is/are a very successful grads from this school as guest speakers to give inspirational messages in rotational basis to students. Please do away with the belief that inviting someone from the higher echelon of any governmental functionary will elevate our standing in our educational pursuits. That to me is a very wrong which clearly shows our adulation to people unknown to most of us and the only consideration is because they hold a higher position in the government.What are we, inferior and they are superior? In fact when I was one of the officer of the DMNHSAA, I was always annoyed by their presence. In fact, I had always felt that protocol had been violated whenever a speech was rendered by a DMNHSAA officer or member that gave recognition to DepEd representative/s ahead of important alumni personalities deserving recognition. Why do we give so much adulation to people all unknown to us, giving useless long speeches. The audience really don't care. I would rather suggest give chances to those succesful classmates in their classes to give remarks or speeches in how they attained their successes. I am not interested with someone in the poduim giving a kilometric speech which is not a product of DMHS so unknown to most excepting those high school employees like the Principal. So lets change the make up of our reunion celebration and e give more attention to celebrants rather inviting those outside the of DMNHS. But, when you give up that privilege abruptly, and have you signed papers, that will affect employment in the private or public sector, then you lost everything.
