From: MessageVery lovely!! How I love the music!! How did you manage to have it at DC? Can we possibly have music on all the websites of Pangasinan? WE used to have it but suddenly there's no more music. I think there is nobody in this world who doesn't enjoy listening to nice, sweet and meaningful music!! Kuya Fernand, can you put back music to every website please?? It is so comforting especially at the end of the day when we are tired and even any part of the day for that matter. It soothes and even tempt us to doze a little esp. when it is so hot that you can't keep your eyelids from drooping!!! I wish Sta. Diak labat ya abasan abbreviation ed kulan ko. From: MessageMabuti pa kayo nakatapos ng pag-aaral. Ako hanggang grade six lang. Row 4 pa. From: Ricky MessageBeth, there's nothing wrong with your English. Elizabethan verse is used to denote poetry written around that time to differentiate from other English Lits. Like you, I left the country fairly young, and when I got here in US. it was sink or swim at school. My vocab. was mainly made up of "yes" and "no". I was misplaced in a sophomore English Lit class my first year here. Of course I failed that class and with it came a determination that I would learn English Lit someday. So after learning a bit of the English language, I went to college and dabbled in English and American Lit. I "discovered" that poetry is not mere words on paper, but the time and the life of these masters. But as I have yet to read an author's translation of his own works, the reader has carte blanche of what she reads. And here lies the endearing qualities of being able to connect with others who feel the same. So Beth, “I must have wanton poets, pleasant wits, ---- Musicians, that with touching of a string --- May draw the pliant king which way I please: --- Music and poetry is my delight;” From: Beth C. Taye MessageWhen I started to learn to browse in Internet last April 2008, I found this Web-Site in my search for my School and former classmates. I graduated at Cape Bolinao High School in 1969 and thereafter left for Germany.Having lived for 37 years in this country,I adopted their language Deutsch and forgot my English skills learned at school but never the Poetry and Phrases of English and American Literature.Never in my life have I dreamed to hear these phrases again, after the heated ,sarcastic ,embarrasing language posted lately in this board.I cannot go on with this kind of language and my intention to partake was merely to say something to Lambong upon seeing my name in the streamers of his Backpack Project.I apologize for the unintedded intrusion and wish you a good conversation the way you used to do.Pale Rider and I became friends, supported my Backpack Project for Bolinao, and invited me to travel to the United States as I envited to see my hometown as a sign of gratitude for his Kindness to Bolinao Children. The fact that I received messages such as Sonnets of the Portugese and the Elizabethan Verses ( Christopher Marlowe) is just a call of fate.I apologize for the length. From: MessageArkadius, in the probins you will read SILAS M arner novel for Literature & Noli Me Tangere or Mi Ultimo ADIOS for Spanish course, but don't ask me questions because I'm always asleep during class hehehe From: MessageQuite interesting explanation, Learned Ladies. Somehow, I may have been absent a few times in Humanities classes. I always thought literature always refers to the writer, not the reader. But what do I know about "Elizabethan verses". It's only now, in this DC, that I have read such a phrase. I have heard and studied, English Literature but never come across "Elizabethan verses" before. ... Now I know I did my studies in the province. From: Ricky MessageI’d be more than happy to oblige, DC viewers, especially to you Mr. Arkadius. (Somehow, my gut tells me this is a set-up, but what the heck, we’re scraping the bottom of the barrel for topics, heheh) First, English History, abridged, verry abridged! Queen Elizabeth, England’s ruler for 45 years or so, which started in the mid sixteenth C. Under her rule, she resurrected the Protestants almost on her own, she availed her reign with absolute monarchy and established the three classes: the poor, the nouveu rich Bougeois and the filthy rich monarchs. She never married but kept a couple of lovers here and there, and oh, she did away with slavery, but not convincingly enough. She brought social classes, drama, fashion, and this idea that women can actually rule, much like QEII today, heheh. Okay, tongue in cheek Dee and Bugsy, before you both aim your daggers at me! ____ Now the verse, which is dominated by Marlowe and his successor, Shakespeare. I don’t do poetry, nor do I know poetry. I just happen to like reading and paraphrasing the prose. When you paraphrase, you stick your neck out. A connection is made when others actually get what you also got from it. It’s not about high society, but about connecting with the words. The beauty of any literature is about what the words mean to you as a reader. And right now, this reads, good night:) From: MessagePlease, please ... We like to be as cultured as Ricky and you. If we can not be in high society as the two of you are now, at least we will know how it is to live in high society. From: Beth C. MessageThank you Ricky,we will have conversation via E-Mail.I will not elaborate the Elizabethan Verses,if you are really interested maybe Ricky will do once in a while. Some of us are going crazy about the few verses we mentioned here, we cannot allow them to get sick as they are right now.As for KB,I heard he reads everything in this Website, also TP ,try to visit Santa Barbara Web-Page specially Baybay Message Board. From: Message"Elizabethan Verses"? Please enlighten us peasants. We are not as cultured as you are, Your Highness. From: Ricky MessageHe can tell you a thing or two about the military, but I doubt our Retired Soldier down there ever moved in the realms of Elizabethan verses, heheh. Here's my e-mail: mcescher4yr@yahoo.com Feel free to e-mail me. I admit, I’ve been out of the loop, but I'm still skeptical about Passionate Shepherd. BTW, I haven't seen KB in DC, but then again, I'm a bit rusty with all these IPs. From: Beth C. MessageI got no E-mail address of Ricky ,if you got it can you please E-mail it to me.May I beg your pardon, this Dc is open for all.You may not have the education to read and know beautiful Elizabethan Verses, I am very sorry for you,......just move on. From: MessageHoy mag e-mailan na nga yong dalawa. Na kakaloka kayo. From: Beth C. MessageYes,Ricky in his own words, since he graduated major in English / minor in History at the UST/PI.And I am very sure,he can be as softspoken and a real gentleman of English tradition but so bad this Pale Rider tale which was a masquerade to trap his friends (KB AND TP)in a pitfall and to lure the softspoken to jump into his parlor"like the spider to the fly".The Passionate Shepherd left Chicago and is permanently residing now in Las Vegas, Nevada. But Cologne is Cologne,an ancient Roman city along the Rhein River,,where Lorelei sang this love song.... From: Ricky MessagePale Rider and the Sonnets of the Portuguese, heheh, in his own words, that would be considered, lugubrious, vilipend, paradoxical. That is, if we’re talking about the same guy from Chicago. Lionwhisperer, I take it, you’re on your way to the wild, wild west of the Nevada desert next month? I’m sorry I’d be missing you, but give my regards to the Passionate Shepherd. Here’s another Marlowe: “The flowers do fade, and wanton fields ___ To wayward Winter reckoning yields: ___ A honey tongue, a heart of gall, ___ Is fancy’s spring, but sorrow’s fall” Come visit this board often Ms. Elizabeth C. I miss your sofspoken wit! From: Messagehehehehehe........whats happening again in our DC home hehehehe..... Gayyem Bugsy, Ricky, Annie, Rain, MP kumusta,... give them a hug. Have a nice weekend to everybody. From: MessageYO all better stop your nonsense attack to each other, move on please! From: MessageKeep dreaming! You even compare your age to those Ladies in this board. You fantasize that you are young wrap in a wrinkled skin as dry as the dessert in Saudi Arabia. YO WILD HOG? From: Beth C . MessageRicky, let it be known to you, that THE LIONWHISPERER of Bolinao has tamed the Lonesome Rider of Las Vegas,Nevada. He has become "The Passionate Shepherd ...",was it from Christopher Marlowe´s desk? He has been writing verses from the Sonnets of the Portuguese and beautiful verses of the Elizabethan Period instead of bulleying around like the cowboys of the Wild,Wild West. I had promised to "dine with him" in August , wherever the venue shall be,could be across the Atlantic. Let this be known to DAHMAN. From: MessageYo hag, keep wishin' that I was older than you! I am in between DD's age and Mystic's now if that is old, what would that make you? Ancient? Still too dumb to realize that you are dumb? From: Message"Ignite it Babe"! You haven't seen nothing yet. You mean like Fireworks in Fourth of July? "Make My Day" Anyway, I want you to know that this board is very entertaining and I don't give a darn attention to any thing you say. You just made me laugh and laughter is the best medicine. Matanda ka na kasi kaya wala kang magawa. From: MessageYou should have a very good idea have you attended the TAP (Transition Assistance Program) six or so months prior to your retirement. Here, you can have your health record evaluated by the VA rep. and will assist you of what you can claim as your disabilities incurred while you are in active duty. The key is that all your claims MUST be in your service health record, if not, you will have a very difficult battle with these people. So, if you still have the time to visit the sick bay as in active duty status, do so and have those achy break-y pains entered in your service health record. VA disability compensation is not automatic. Most useful information is Military.com and go to Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay (CRDP). Good luck. From: K MessageSNPANC starts camping today through Sunday (July 18 through 20) at Lake Camanche, Northshore by Lodi. You might want to pursue your career to Education, since you have your own Academy at home. You can also, take courses in the Phil. under the GI bill. More than 1300 dollars din ‘yon per month, just sitting back, easy money. From: MessageI'll be in Manaoag the 2nd-3rd week of Aug. Osang, I'll stop by MA on my way to Urdaneta, and Beth, Bolinao's El Pescador it is. Why don't you ladies join me and make a nice ladies-only excursion out of it? From: MessageRicky, I'll be here till the 27th then will go to Hawaii for a week to finish my retirement paperworks before I return to Bangkok. If you go home, you may check-out MA so you could see the encyclopedia you donated- on behalf of the MA students I would like to thank you, let me know if you want to visit the school. From: Beth C.
