You should include the PUBLIC RESTROOM in your priority. This is the biggest problem for every tourist who visited our beach. And, the pig pens near the shore in the eastern part of the barrio. It is unsafe for our visitors. this should be avoided.

To the people of Dasol who have money, you have the obligation to help those people who do not have any. Jesus said, "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren (brothers) you did it to me." Do not allow greed to take over your lives. God gave you the opportunity to serve Him by serving others. Everyone will die. When you leave this earth, and face God, what will you tell Him that you have done? For those who got better education, you have the obligation to serve those who are not schooled or uneducated. Do not treat these low people as your slaves, do not take advantage of them, do not harass them , because time will come you will be answerable to God. These people that are being taken advantaged now, these are loved by God, God knows what's going on, but He is just giving you time to repent and reform.. He said, "the first will be last and the last will be first" in his kingdome. Watch what you do now because everything you do will be accounted for in the final judgment. Think about it. This is your time to serve God.

The hostage-taking incident that took the lives of some Hongkong tourists could probably have been handled using better strategies. And better strategies can only come from those who have good training to do the job. Does the Philippines have that capability? I read the message of the mayor of Bani and his administration's goal for a city of Bani by 2020. Congratulations to that. However, turning a town to a city has its catch: gambling, prostitution, high crime rate, drugs...hopefully, this does not happen with Bani. Bani should be prepared for this and may Bani, despite its progress may not lose its original culture. Hopefully, when Dasol starts progressing, it will preserve its original beauty: the river, the trees, the mountains, the good naturedness of the people. These are the reasons why Dasol is attractive in the first place. Liken it to a woman who possesses what we call natural beauty who, when starts changing her image and became overly made-up from head to toe, loses her charm and became just like the rest of women who do not possess an identity. May Dasol preserve its beauty while directing itself towards progress.

Children learning how to use computers or cellphones is keeping up with the new technology. We cannot stop the development and coming of new technologies. Computer gaming is just one of the aspect of computer itself. What is bad is that children tend to overplay with computers until the unholy hour which prejudices their studies. It will all depend on the parents if he will allow his child to play computer games but for a limited time like once a week for 3 hours maximum, and it has to be on a weekend not on school days. Learning computers will definitely an advantage for every child be it in school, home and someday in his chosen career. Go forward Dasol. God bless.

Someone did not get my message right. I am not part of or behind the computer business in Dasol. In fact, I have no communication with Dasol other than through this message board. I am just like other Filipinos, hungry for news from the Philippines, and itching to be of help even in the minutest way. All I am saying is, having an internet cafe or a cyber-computer in Dasol is an opportunity for the youth in Dasol who has not had a chance to touch or see a computer operate on it hands on. This is one opportunity for the youth to tell themselves and others as well that they, too, even if they live in a remote area, have a chance to play with computers. Isn't that something? Gone are the days when those who came from the barrios are being labeled as "taga bundok," "tanga," "walang alam" "promdi lang" and other labels that hurtful but true. Now, that's no more possible because there is a way these children can say, "I know how to play the computer." And they say that with confidence. Do you know that here in the US, some still think that Philippines is so poor that people don't even have access to computers. I have to tell them point blank that they are so wrong and ignorant in thinking like that about the Philippines. The pictures that they see about the Philippines is an injustice and an insult to the intelligence of many Filipinos. I told them that in the Philippines, they had used text messaging through cell phones long before text messaging became popular in America. Through text messaging, people in Manila were able to gather fast to oust the administration of Erap and to support GMA (remember that time?) And during that time, not many people here in the US even know what text messaging is about. Isn't that funny? I also told them that even if they see in pictures that Philippines is a poor country, they would be surprised that when they visit the Philippines, they would see internet cafes almost in every corner and this is the favorite hangouts of students: college students and high schoolers. When I informed them about that, they were amazed and said they are taking back what they say about the Philippines. This is the same reason why I am not opposed to having internet cafes or computers in Dasol or anywhere else because indirectly, it is part of the children's education but just like anything else, it must be used in moderation. It should not be abused. It's the same principle with eating. Eating is good but it has to be in moderation, otherwise, you get sick for eating too much: high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, etc. Please do not take me wrong. I am just giving my opinion for what i thought would be best for Dasol. Thank you.

I don't know if it is true that there were vote buying but do not single out Dasol. Vote buying can be every where in the Philippines. And I agree with one of the posters that it is the fault of the voters for accepting bribes (if ever there were bribes). The lesson here is: do not accept bribes. Anyway, congratulations to the winners. I am not a native of Dasol but whenever i have the chance, i make it a part of my itinerary to visit Dasol. Why? Because it is a beautiful place, believe it or not. I am so thankful that you still have Dasol Bay and your unadulterated beaches. Hopefully, you also plant more trees and really be serious with taking care of the environment. Dasol, for me is like a paradise. Whenever we talk about it here abroad, we are always talking about how beatiful your place is. I hope you maintain its beauty by maintaining your natural resources. In the US, people pay millions just to be able to live next to the ocean or near the beach, or on the mountains. You in Dasol, you already have those so be thankful. The one thing i would like for you to improve is the education of Dasol youth and every body else interested to improve their lives. The best way to improve one's life is through education. If Dasol could improve its education system, great! You have already accomplished one great task. Next, i've heard that many retirees have become idle. Instead of contributing the remaining years of their lives to helping their fellow Dasolinians, they have regressed to being gamblers (mahjong, tong-its, bingo, hueteng...). Is this the example you want to show to the youth? This is a bad example. You can not inspire the youth to improve themselves this way. You have teachers who have retired. Maybe these retirees can help by volunteering one hour of their precious time to helping the pre-schoolers with no money to start with the alphabet and the numbers? This would be a good starter for pre-schoolers, to get them interested in school. Teach them how important education is. Also with education, do not forget to teach about God. And when we say about God, start with the basic. The people of Dasol are good enterpreneurs. Why don't the people set up a committee that will serve as a think tank on how they can tap the brain of their people toward making Dasol a better place to live without destroying their environment? You should not rely on your mayor to do everything for Dasol. Your mayor is the leader of your town but like every body else, he is also a human being who does not have all the answers. You have to help your mayor instead of criticizing him. Although his intentions are good, he can not do it alone. If you really want Dasol improved, help him. And please, preserve the beauty of Dasol by taking care of your environment. There are only a few places left like yours. Keep it that way. I will send more messages.
