I remember so well the Christmas pageants that were enacted by us pupils every Christmas. We did not even know about Santa then and what a blessing that was. We drew lots and exchanged gifts which caused a lot of excitement and admittedly disappointment sometimes like my cousin who confronted me for the lowly comb that he received from me which my mother decided was good for him, owning his own personal comb so his pomada would not annoy the girl siblings as they only had a family comb. Yes, we were poor, did not know it so we were happy .Merry Christmas to all!

Myrna, as my Inang Baket would exclaim,"Anian, nagsayaat ketdin".I have not tasted gurami in years. I prefer it to the tilapia. The latter was first introduced in Alcala in the early fifties as an ornamental fish for home fishponds. There were accidental drownings in these ponds so that got phased out. Someday before I get too decripit, I might just visit Alcala again.In your case, Bersamin is your private resort. Enjoy life ading,"Work while you work, play while you play". It was so long ago when I graduated from this school that the year 1952 is not even posted. Notables in that graduating class: Clarita Publico Pasion, Eugenia Banut, Teofilo Fiesta, Virgilia Ferrer, Adelina Ferrer. I visited there in 2006 and was impressed with the improvements. may I humbly suggest that you read ALCALA REVISITED, copies in the main Alcala library. There are pictures of our old school.

What's up San Vicente! Thanks,to Manang Myrna to the favor of suggesting to our webmaster for including SVES in the message board. It's nice to see all of you during my short and enjoyable vacation. I had a lot of fun,especially during the 50th wedding anniversary of my aunt held at the town plaza auditorium. A lot of relatives and friends came from other places to attend the celebration that the whole auditorium were occupied. It's like a town fiesta at the time. Everybody enjoyed listening and dancing to the music of the fantastic CARANTO BROTHERS BAND AND ORCHESTRA. I also finally got to visit the roots of the family down in Ilocos Sur. Hope to see you all again next vacation. In the maintime,I have to work my ass off hard to save money,till next time! God bless everybody.
