The "Agila" which is the symbolic figure of our beloved town of Aguilar, was located at the same place of the statue of Dr. Jose Rizal...It's true, it would be nice if I took a shot at the actual location of Mapita but, sorry to tell you that I don't have enough time anymore to reach the peak level of Mapita. So, I'm still almost 2 kms. away from the actual site of Mapita when I took those pictures of the aerial view of Mapita. Just to give you some updated news, there's a concrete road now going to Mapita and 3 kms. away from Mapita, there is also El Montero Resort w/c was owned by Bert Versoza and many of our townmates are starting to build their resthouse over there...I hope this info will be already enough for you to know...

For Chris: One travel option if you want to go to the western towns of pangasinan like Aguilar, is to take a bus (e.g. Five Star, Victory Liner, Dagupan) bound to Alaminos or Bolinao. Bus will pass by Aguilar (Landmark is the imposing old hispanic church along the national highway). If you have a private vehicle one possible route you could take is via Dau, Pampanga and Camiling, Tarlac. If you still don't have a road map, i think it would be high time to get one. Otherwise, follow the buses bound for Alaminos or Bolinao ü. You may also ask people along the way. Glad that you love Aguilar! Have a safe trip come Holy week!

I added our school as one of the beneficiaries for the www.pangasinan.org BACKACK PROJECT and it is for this intention that i posted this e-mail. The BackpAck project was posted way back on January 2007 and right now, we only have 2 generous donors namely MR. ROGELIO MONDALA of Infanta, Mangatarem and MS.JUVILY ACOSTA ANCHETA who contributed a combined 30 backpacks (10 for Mr. Mondala & 20 for Ms. Ancheta). I would like to seek for your assistance in the said project. A backpack would cost $5 and we would really appreciate if you can share your blessings or make a little sacrifice to contribute to meet the target. A skipped snack amounting to $5 will make one pupil happy for the rest of his life , after all, it will not really hurt to give out at least $5 for a meaningful project. Our school, Tarece Elementary School covers students from 4 Barangays ( Quezon-Boquig, Tarece, BEga & Manandag) and majority of the pupils are children of farmers. When i visited San CArlos last December, i saw that poverty is still in the place, pupils use "plastic/sando" bags as an alternate for a decent school bag. I believe they really need it especially during the start of school year (June to August) which is a rainy season. I hope that you can help us meet the targeted date of delivery.
