From: Agno MessageFrom: Uliteg MessageJoel balong, ni uliteg mo manen daytoy. Anya rikna na ti ag-Mayor. Mayat? Mayat siguro ta agkandidato ka manen. Public service is a huge sacrifice. The pay is small compared to the burden and responsibility that goes with it. Sapay kuma ta nailinis ti inka panagtugaw. The best measure to determine if a public official is corrupt is to compare his/her and family's quality of life before, while and after he got into office. If he used to drive a motorbike and now he owns and drives a new car, that would be amazing. If his house underwent lots of improvements during his tenure, that would be incredible. If he used to go around simply alone before and he now has a platoon of bodyguards, where does he get the salary and accommodation for these men for his personal safety? He should explain. I read your accomplishments posted here presumably by your office and I didn’t see anything big deal. I was hoping to see a single project that has great impact on the lives of our people but awan met. Panay pasimento. They are the usual and regular programs of any administration. I did not see any job creation or even a single irrigation facility that will keep our farmers continue planting after the farming season. Did you vigorously pursue the investigation on the death of the late Arthur Cabantac? I don’t know if you read my humble advice thru this message board just days after you assumed mayorship. I suggested that you get rid of the same faces that littered your Uncle Adan and Auntie Letty office and instead hire young, devoted, capable and idealistic men and women with dynamic and progressive minds to guide you. You should have distanced yourself from your Uncle and Auntie and avoided the impression that you are just their pawn, but you did not. You were never your own man, balong, never and I’m so disappointed. My parting words then was, “make good with the remaining 2 years and you will be rewarded with another term”. Joel balong, do you sincerely believe you deserve another term? From: Peter Messagehappy new year to everyone from Peter From: friend MessageKumusta Pareng Nards. From: Taga paterno MessageI'm not into politics, I'm happy working in private sector but not forgeting my social reponsibility. but I think this is a good platform to start with, Africa already has this program and Gawag Kalinga already building a commuinity with this principle " Economic Emancipation" You will have to build a new community that is empowered with reformed, productive values or else the people of the community with counterproductive values will tend to bring everybody down. When a community shares the same goals then they will tend to support each other towards the desired better life. You can present your party line-up (vice mayor and 8 councilors) and explan your choice. Say it in vernacular. Come on, it's your chance, before comelec will declare you a nuisance candidate. Just because you are a Federal Government Emloyee(I hope that's what Fed stands for not Federal Savings and Loan Employee) does not mean you are above ordinary people like most of us. Since when did suspense mean project. Look it up. By the way, most federal employees do not work 12-hour shifts not unless you are a GI. So before you post your messages, collect your thoughts, write them down and double-check your facts that way you'll meet the suspenses of the projects you are undertaking. From: Fed MessageThis is so sad. The projects that I suggested were just a day's job. I work for the US Government and I don't need to apply for Malacanang. You can ask Filipinos or agnoans who are federal workers and they will tell you the numbers of suspenses(filipino term for projects)that they have to finish before the end of a 12 hour shift, it will make your head spin ( you are learning something right now) as you are reading this message. Don't feel I am putting you down but take it as a challenge. Good luck to you all! From: Taga Calomboyan MessageAurelio Evangelista was actually a Quinola. He was called Don Aurelio Quinolo of Sabangan Norte. He was the founder of the old Sabangan Norte Elementary School. That school should be appropriately called Don Aurelio Quinola Memorial Elementary School, DAQMES for short. From: agno MessageThe massacre in Maguindanao is no different with the killing of the late Mayor Art Cabantac. The objective of the perpetrators and masterminds is to perpetuate their clan into power and anyone who dares to challenge them politically is regarded an obstacle and must be eliminated. From: Fed MessageDamn! this is what I am talking about!! You got it! This a start. I know that we (agnoans)still got it in us. We just have to go back to the basics. Please, post more of this kind of info so that other agnoans can dig deep into their memories compile this treasure of ideas and present it to the leaders of Agno. Back in the days we use to "BIVOUC" by the beach and clean-up for our community service, beautification projects during Arbor day. If you can remember the security measures that Mayor de Gusman implemented to keep our town safe, please post it here. I feel safe back then as a kid, we might be able to revive, tweek it and implement to suit the needs of Agnoans. Please keep it coming. From: agno Messageduring my high school days, the dswd used to conduct desaster preparedness seminars to teach people what to do during natural calamities. each barangay have different brigades like emergency, food, etc. who are trained to do an specific job during calamities. there was even a simulated house fire using the house of tia taning napoles located in front of central school. people were cooperative and eager to join and the project became very successful. programs like this are beneficial to the community and local governments should continue doing it. From: Fed MessageAny commens? Takers? Any addition to my suggestions? I am willing to take 2 weeks and train on some areas of management especially community service, emergency plan/security, creations of OI's (Operating Instruction) on different areas so that leaders and municipal staffers have a format to follow and a way to measure progress. From: Fed MessageI was home when a typhoon hit Pangasinan and the US Marines helped out in Rosales. I was also waiting for Agno officials to implement some kind of an Emergency Action Plan but somehow nothing happened not even a "bandilyo balado" that they used to do when I was a kid. Anyways, it's nobody's fault because Agno leaders DO NOT have an Emergency Management Team nor an Emergency Plan. This is also an area where Leaders of Agno can be trained on. Agno have a lot of talent and one way to tap into those expertise is instead of doing a parade during reunion, we can do worshops, ie, CPR/First Aid(Even children has to be trained on this) community service, after school management, establish a support group for the elderly and the ones who are living alone in their houses, establish leisure and recreation for everybody- exercise and jogging club, dance club, business club and other activities to start a community to come together again and help it's other out. From: Dion MessageGaling kau ng Agno? Ibig nyong sabihin hindi nyo nakita ung mga bagong asphalted na kalsada na this year lang nagawa? From: Dion MessageGaling kau ng Agno? Ibig nyong sabihin hindi nyo nakita ung mga bagong asphalted na kalsada na this year lang nagawa? From: Fed MessageGreat PR release, great for media dependent hard working Agnoans around the world but in reality none of the projects you had mentioned that were "accomplished" according to your report really existed because I was their several months ago. I went around and nothing has been improved or changed. Joel is a great person but he needs to surround himself with younger generation with management background, public relations and financial knowledge. Or contract a management firm to overhaul the system and train the Mayor and staff and be ready for the transition when the firm's contract ends. Overhauling the system is what AGNO needs and this process also changes the way the people think and respond to the changes. The people of Agno has to be informed as the changes happens so you can avoid tragedy. From: NorthStar MessageGr8 JOB!!!!! Keep up the good/honest work!!!!! From: LGU MessageI would like to inform you that based on the record, all the mentioned projects that was posted here earlier under the administration of Mayor Jose N. Pajeta, Jr. were initiated by him with the help of some political personalities. The only project cited that was started by the previous administration was the infirmary. The construction however was freezed because of problems brought about by the project's execution/implementation. As per COA's findings and reports, the scheme's erection were somewhat irregular. The present administration iron out all prescribed papers for the legality of the edifice completion and for the Agnoans health care needs, and that makes the infirmary construction project also a project of Mayor's Pajeta, Jr.'s administration. I hope sir/ma'am this will enlighten you about your inquiry on the aforementioned programme. From: Baggak ti Laud MessageOwws talaga? Di ba projects yan ni late Mayor Cabantac? Itanong mo pa ke Manong Guilling. From: MHA Site Admin MessageBe our guest at our newest message board at - http://alcala.ph.tc - see you there! From: LGU MessageGreetings to the patron of this website. The Municipal Government of Agno, Pangasinan, in response to the call of our “Kababayans” worldwide who have an access to this medium, is honored to give an update of the projects that have been accomplished by the agency under the administration of Honorable Jose N. Pajeta, Jr. It has been his ardent desire to see our humble town rise to become more progressive and refurbished municipality of the region. Schemes to realize this vision were executed and some are now being implemented. The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Agno has embarked on massive infrastructure projects commensurate to its limited financial resources and dependent upon the assistance of other government agencies. These projects were being undertaken through the initiative of Mayor Pajeta, Jr., hand in hand with the Sangguniang Bayan Members headed by the equally supportive Vice Mayor, Hon. Wilson N. Rosete and are dedicated to the townspeople of Agno. Some of these ventures are being enumerated and posted to these website for the information of the general public. 1. Assistance of a bulldozer from Congressman Arthur F. Celeste for road repairs 14. Concreting the Aroas Elementary School Pathway After the onslaught of Typhoon Emong leaving 5 towns of Western Pangasinan, including Agno, into a state of calamity, Mayor Pajeta, Jr. immediately sought different government agencies and political personalities to minimize the impact of the disastrous typhoon in our town. Departments of the municipal government were mobilized for the distribution of relief goods and cash to the victims. Medical Missions were also undertaken in Barangay Patar, Aloleng and Boboy. Medicines donated by the PCSO were being distributed at the mayor’s office after presentation of a doctor’s prescription. Other accomplishments of the local chief executive’s office were as follows; To protect the youth from the deadly Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, fogging operations were directed to be implemented A mandate to clean-up the shore was also made and was directed to coastal barangays to preserve their scenic beauty Requests of donations from elementary and secondary schools for equipments and facilities were granted Reaching out to the poor and in need through his financial assistance never cease. Tax collection is being intensified Presently, the Office of the Mayor continues to fund school board teachers and maintain municipal scholars. Mayor Pajeta, Jr also help our youths who are very eager to finish their tertiary education but cannot do so because of financial constraint by recommending them to HOLCIM, Philippines and the office of Cong. Arthur F. Celeste for a scholarship grant. Other significant projects of Mayor Pajeta’s administration, with the composition of the sangguniang bayan, that are yet to be implemented sometime this year and early 2010 are the following: Construction of Portland cement concrete pavement, slope protection and grouted riprap of Ampi Road in Brgy. Magsaysay Construction of concrete pavement along Dangley-Aloleng Road Construction of concrete pavement along Dangley-Magsaysay Road Construction of Bridge Superstructure of Abagatanen Bridge Construction of Municipal Infirmary/Health Center Construction of Concrete Pavement fronting the Agno Public Market These are all for now and we promise to keep the general public updated of the comings and goings of our present Local Government Unit Administration. We need a leader that has a moral ascendancy and strong political will to enforce change. A lot of us are already complacent we are afraid of change. Once there is a person that offering a change but he was killed by those who do not want and afraid to change their evil ways. This is nothing new in our history remember Ninoy Aquino. Corruption in this country is already systemic from the barangay tanod to the National level. May isang incunbent councelor dyan na nag sabing matagal ng nilunok ko ang prinsipyo nya dahil everybody is doing it(corruption) so nadala na din sya ng agos ng maling sistema.
