to the coordinator: hello there!i read your queries for the SCAAA president. i would like to inform you that no specific project yet is discussed for the reason that the SCAAAI has just been conceptualized last Dec 29, 2007 with election of its officers and class representatives..for now, we are concentrating on the preparation of the Grand Alumni Homecoming. once everything is already in order, programs/projects of the alumni association will be presented to the body. I have question in regards to this upcoming reunion. I was elected to coordinate the overseas member of our batch. The members of our batch are asking me. What are we soliciting for? What are the project of this Alumni Organization? Is it different project each batch or We are doing this as one big family? Some of our batch members suggested to sponsor a scholarship for poor but deserving students.but there some issue in regards to how it will materialized and the selecting process. Dearest One, My greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am Mrs. Ruth Bamba from Kuwait ( Based in Republic of Cote d'ivoire). I am married to Mr. Albuli Bamba whom untill his death served as was a licensed minner and the chairman of Periling Diamond Mining Company in kuwait for twelve years and a very wealthy man by inheritance before he died in the year 2004. We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both born again Christian. Since his death I decided not to re-marry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of(US$4,000,000M)(four million United States Dollars) in one of the private Security Company here in Abidjan Cote D'Ivoire . Presently this money is still with the Security Company. Presently, my Doctor confirmed to me that I have serious sickness which was diagonised to be cancer of the liver and the worst part of it all is that I don't have a child of my own that would have inherit our wealth. Haven known my condition I decided to donate this fund to a church or individual that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein, while I will be waiting for when the heavenly God will put an end to my missery and then face jugdement before my creator. I want a church or individual that will use this fund for orphanages, helping the widows, more importantly propagating the word of God and to endeavour that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that“Blessed is the hand that giveth”. I took this decision because I don’t have any child that will inherit this money and I don’t want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 vs 14 says that“the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace”. I don’t need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health hence the presence of my husband’s relatives around me always. I don’t want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I will give you the contact of the Security Company here in Abidjan. So I want you to always pray for me because the lord is my shepherd. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that Wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and Truth. Please always be prayerful all through your life. I can see that my comment has been misunderstood. Shooting the messenger is not going to help. I did not suggest that the announcement should be in English. I said, the grammar should be checked carefully because this message board is not limited to us Pangasinans. I was not putting down anyone - I was pointing out a mistake. Was it wrong to say the emperor had no clothes? I don't know who put some of the announcements here and I have no intention of picking on them personally, unlike what some in this forum have done. The message was in English, therefore, it should have been in good, grammatical English. Otherwise, it should have been in Pangasinan, if that was what was desired. Obviously, the people who announced the reunion chose to do it in English so it can reach an optimal number of people through the web, whether Charlesians or not. Perhaps so non-Charlesians who happen to see the bulletin can tell their Charlesian friends about it. That they put it on the web makes this obvious. Wrongful grammar reflects badly on SCA and the people who released the announcement. It implies carelessness at work. Careless work means either the doer does not care enough to do perfect work or he is ill-equipped. If it is the first, SCA should find someone who cares enough to do perfect work. If it is the latter, SCA should find someone who is properly equipped to do the job. This is not a small thing we are talking about here. It's a grand reunion. I would not put it past those who jumped on me - they are obvioulsy full of vitriol and anger and I hope they get something through which they can channel their negtive emotions. The announcement was and is an official act of the school, a school in a country where English is still an official language. If you don't know this, check the constitution. It's there in black and white. And if you haven't noticed, some foreigners actually believe we speak and teach good English. That is why Koreans (yes, the Japanese, too) and flock to Cebu and Baguio and other education centers to learn English. So, yes, who's not getting real here? And this has nothing to do with one's ability to speak Pangasinan or to be proud of it. That that was even suggested is simply fallacious. Sadly, fallacy is the refuge of the weak. The reactions to my message attacked the messenger, not the message. They appealed to emotion, i.e., pity that Pangasinan is allegedly a dying language and so it must be spoken. No one said it should not be spoken. They also put the argument with a false two-choice proposition. No one said if you write the message in English,you automatically disdain, disown, dishonor or despise Pangasinan. That is just being myopic. We can all be multi-lingual as in fact we all are so if we can be good at each language, let's do it. I did not know that sloppy work appeals to some of us. Pity. Charlesians ti ni nimet. Dec. 29, 2007 will indeed be a brainstorming for the 40th FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY GRAND ALUMNI HOMECOMING. As pointed out by daluyon, the GRAND REUNION should be prepared at least a year before... and that's exactly what the organizers are doing. Thus, IF YOU ARE AN ALUMNI OF SCA, YOU ARE INVITED to the GRAND REUNION on FEBRUARY 2009. It seems strange that at this stage,people at SCA are still talking about the date(s) for the reunion. One would ordinarily prepare for an occasion as big as this at least a year before. I think the December planning session/reunion is cutting it too close especially for the ones who are attending. It isn't easy to get days off from work especially for the ones coming from abroad who would love to see the school again and meet old friends. But I guess this is rather late. At any rate, the sooner the date of the reunion is announced, the better. And yes, calling the December thing a "reunion" is a bit confusing if the intent is to have a bull session to prepare for the grand reunion. Last note, the school may want to appoint people who are spokespersons for the event; the grammar in some of the announcements don't speak well for the school. I mean, this website is accessible the world over. Good luck and more power to the organizers.

I'm just guessing in response to the question how the organizers figured out the foundation of SCA to be 45 yrs.I think SCA was founded in 1969 so the fisrt graduate was 1973 but it's not 45 yrs, it should be 40yrs. Am I right?

There are lots of places to stay while you are here for the reunion. There's Regency hotel in Calasiao and hotels in Dagupan. Theres also hotel in Mabini street and Palaris Street.Which are not far and plenty of public transfortation. Not sure about the type of accomodation the hotel in San Carlos. Also contact your friends and other relatives if you could crush in for the night or so. In regards to the alumni picnic in California. Nakaka disappoint lalo na sa mga organizer. They spend a lot of time in planning and putting it together and not enough people show-up. As a true Charlesian we should support it if we want the organizer to continue doing it. Huwag ninyong sayanging and pagod nila.The success of this organization is depend to all of us. Next year they are planning dinner and dance depende sa responds ng mga member. This is our chance to get connected with one another. By Feb. 2009 there will be a grand reunion. I will post the invitation that was sent to me. George thats a good Idea,last year I sent a box of books to St Charles. I got it from moving sale. I paid 70 dollars for 22x22 balikbayan box. I'm currently based outside the country myself and haven't gotten down to getting back to SCA "stuff" (as they say in California) but you may want to start a yahoo groups. I know Sabog is in California, Tony Sy is in Arizona, Kimberly is still in London as well as a number of other classmates of ours. email me at either my Fulbright or Yahoo accounts and regale me with your tales from British Columbia (is it?). Updates: Eric Sanchez is a Human Resource manager at a call center in Manila while Chito is still with Kraft; he handles North Luzon accounts from Pangasinan to Ilocos Norte - sells a lot a cheeze whiz. Epol is a lawyer at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Manila. Remember that proposal that I talked about while I was in New York - that all of us who are outside the Philippines may want to send books home, we can get them from thrift shops and send them to the SCA library. That can still work. Parcel services to the Philippines is very cheap and you may want to have someone look into this. Anyone who would like to tbe take charge guy or girl in the US will be welcome. Also for Europe. And this does not have to be limited to Class 1990. Let me know what you think.

I added our school as one of the beneficiaries for the www.pangasinan.org BACKACK PROJECT and it is for this intention that i posted this e-mail. The Back ack project was posted way back on January 2007 and right now, we already have 3 generous donors namely MR. ROGELIO MONDALA of Infanta, Mangatarem(10bags),MS.JUVILY ACOSTA ANCHETA (20 bags), MR. MARRK mof MANAOG (10bags). We also got a pledge from Mrs. & Mrs. Rolly & Delia Bona of Poblacion Burgos (4 bags) and Pangasinan Society of Calgary c/o Narlo T. Serquiña / Leopoldo Mendoza (70 bags) I would like to seek for your assistance in the said project. A backpack would cost $5 and we would really appreciate if you can share your blessings or make a little sacrifice to contribute to meet the target. A skipped snack amounting to $5 will make one pupil happy for the rest of his life , after all, it will not really hurt to give out at least $5 for a meaningful project. Our school, Tarece Elementary School covers students from 4 Barangays ( Quezon-Boquig, Tarece, Bega & Manandag-Cabelew) and majority of the pupils are children of farmers. When i visited San CArlos last December, i saw that poverty is still in the place, pupils use "plastic/sando" bags as an alternate for a decent school bag. I believe they really need it especially during the start of school year (June to August) which is a rainy season. I hope that you can help us meet the targeted date of delivery. greetings to all, just want to know what is going on now with the grand homecoming/reunion that was been posted last year. if i am not wrong, it was mentioned that it may be sometime in 2008. what's the up date? please keep us posted what is cooking now regarding this reunion. Is it still in the can or just an idea that was shared and now forgotten. anyway, wish everyone back home that peace and orderly in the city will be preserved after about the recent political scandal occurred. it is very sad and bothersome that such tragedy have to occur due to the self interest of some politicians. it is quite an statement that people have to pay attention and be wise in choosing their own leaders and law makers, otherwise it will end up again that the city will become "a city from no where and hopeless". Once again, it will be nice to see the city to grow just like every neighboring cities around that they soar and develop into a place that everyone wants to be living, investing, visiting, seeing, calling - "my hometown", talking etc...It the city is well develop, then it is good for our alma mater because growth is contagious. don't forget that st. charles academy is located in san carlos city. what do you think?
